ST101: Qigong Meditation Basics 1

4 days: Typically, two consecutive weekends
Each day runs from 9:30am - 12:30pm and 2:00pm - 4:30pm (EASTERN TIME -- [UTC-5/4 ] )
No previous background in qigong or qigong meditation required.
Our goal is restore and improve physical health through soft-body movement exercise and ancient Chinese meditative methods to bring balance to the emotional body. This releases tension and stress, and eliminates toxic emotions.

Without techniques to get grounded, your everyday life can be difficult to manage. Interpersonal relationships suffer. Negative emotional states drain the body of energy. If you feel tired and drained all the time, the first step is to tackle the things that drain your body of energy . . . namely negative emotional states and the inability to be grounded in interpersonal relationships. This is our first step. We explore a variety of techniques to deal with these issues, using ancient Chinese meditative methods as well as rejuvenating soft-body exercises (qigong).
ABOUT QIGONG MEDITATION BASICS 1
We will learn four fundamental meditations for emotional and spiritual well-being:
- Inner Smile Meditation: cultivate self-acceptance and decrease inner conflicts
- Lotus Meditation: balance internal temperature and send love to surroundings
- Six Healing Sounds: detoxify negative emotions and memories
- Classical Microcosmic Orbit: balance inner energy and rejuvenate the body
In addition to the meditations, we will learn some supportive physical qigong:
- Yiquan Standing Meditation: get grounded emotionally through basic standing
- Introduction to Tao Yin Qigong: learn ways to invigorate through basic stretching
- Qigong Basics: soft body movements to stimulate the relaxation response
- Five Animal Frolics: qigong forms mimicking five animals for emotional detox
