Dear friends of Qigong and Tai Chi,

We briefly discuss the Year of the Rabbit and then discuss some new qigong opportunities starting up soon.

Read on !

As I explained in the previous newsletter, the Chinese New Year -- Year of the Rabbit -- which was celebrated worldwide on January 22 was not the actual start date to the Year of the Rabbit.

Year of the Rabbit, according to Chinese Astrology started February 3, 2023 at 9:43pm Eastern Time, the beginning of Lichun (Start of Spring).

So we are now about three weeks into this new time period.

How does this differ from Year of the Tiger, which we just left?

The Tiger is a ferocious animal that tends to leap forward quickly with jumps and starts.  It lies in wait and then lunges forward in a sudden burst.  So often Year of the Tiger will produce sudden and unexpected changes.

The following year, after this year . . . Year of the Rabbit . . . is that of the Dragon.  The Dragon is a big change-maker . . . breaking boundaries and creating big shifts.

Between these two, is a small break.

The Year of the Rabbit

Not saying the Year of the Rabbit will be easy, but it tends to be a year that has less sudden and unexpected changes in comparison to the Tiger and Dragon years.

But this could be good or bad, depending on you.

If your life is going well, probably it will continue that way in the Rabbit year without that many shake-ups compared to some years.

If your life is currently a struggle, it will also probably continue that way in the Rabbit year.  When life is a struggle, we often want change, but Year of the Rabbit then would be like biting through, like a rabbit slowly chewing through its obstacles.

Still, rabbits tend to be quick, so the Rabbit year will pass by fast.

Can you believe it is already almost March?

Rabbits are considered lucky.  Hence the old (somewhat nasty) tradition of carrying rabbit's feet for good luck.  Rabbits are very charismatic and charming.

So overall it should be a little bit of softer year compared to the Tiger year (last year) and Dragon year (next year).

Of course, this is speaking in a general way, how the Year of the Rabbit will tend to affect all of society.

How Year of the Rabbit affects YOU personally, is much more complicated.

For the individual person, the year will affect everyone differently.

For some, the year will be easy; for others, the year will be hard.  Everyone will have their own fortune.

This gets into a more detailed analysis that depends on one's own five-element makeup and Chinese astrology chart.  This is where Chinese astrology gets very complex.

QIGONG MEDITATION BASICS 1 ONLINE -- Starts Sat-Sun March 25, 2023!

release tension and stress

Coming up Mar 25-26+Apr 1-2 is our premier introduction class Qigong Meditation Basics 1.  It has no prerequisites.  All are welcome!

This is a great introduction to our system, all about learning how to get grounded and to detoxify from negative emotions, along with wonderful physical qigong to help heal the body.

This is a class you definitely don't want to miss!

Many classes have prerequisites and have this course as a prerequisite.

The next time this class will be offered will not be until March 2024.

This two-weekend online class in Qigong Meditation Basics 1 is only $195 for both weekends.

Those that have had this workshop before (i.e. don't need to register these hours in it for future certification), are welcome to email me to get a special review price payment link for $125, if you wish to take it as a refresher.

Even if you've taken Basics before from someone else, this course could be well worth your time.  I cover the material much more deeply than some others.

While many other instructors crash course Basics in two or four days, I actually spend five full courses to teach all of the Basics material, as there is far more material than most realize.

This Basics 1 course can also be the start of someone's qigong certification pathway!

Have you ever had the desire to be certified in qigong?

By taking Qigong Meditation Basics 1 and some subsequent courses, you will fulfill the requirements to become an Associate Instructor.

FYI:  You do not need to do all the workshops in the program in one year.  So long as you complete the 120 hour program in a span of 3 years since the beginning, we can certify you.

See details under Certification Program

If you have no interest in certification, that's OK.  The material will serve you for life, and the contact hours will still count, if you later change your mind.

By the way, each student will receive an Attendance Certificate (upon completion of course), which can be used toward Associate Instructor certification, with either myself or another registered Senior Instructor when your hours are completed.

To assist in ongoing learning, I will provide three month access to recordings of qigong practice material, so that once the course is finished, you can continue practicing and reinforcing what you learned.

2nd Refine + Intmd Tai Chi Qigong 1 program is $195/person.

For all other workshops, tuition is also only $195/person for the two-weekend courses (reviewers for two-weekend courses $125, contact me).  Restricted classes require prerequisites and enroll through email to me.
