Fusion of the Five Elements 1 + Iron Shirt Qigong 2   (PART B)

PREREQUISITE: Fusion of the Five Elements 1 + Iron Shirt Qigong 2   (PART A)
This course continues the course material from Fusion 1 + Iron Shirt 2 PART A.
No Tai Chi skill is assumed or used in this course.

OVERVIEW

The purpose of this course is to explore additional techniques for improving one's physical health and emotional health, and to act as a direct continuation to Fusion of the Five Elements 1 + Iron Shirt Qigong 2   (PART A).

Fusion of the Five Elements 1 is a set of meditations that work to transform negative emotional patterns held deep in the five vital organs.
Iron Shirt Qigong 2 is a set of six dynamic tendon qigong exercises for youthfulness and flexibility.

This workshop is split up as a two-part course:  Parts A and B.
We do this to allow the necessary time that is required to learn and to practice this more challenging material.

ABOUT FUSION OF THE FIVE ELEMENTS 1   (PART B)

Using the qigong meditation material in Part A, we combine the methods taught earlier into a more potent Fusion 1 whereby we dig into the deepest layers of held negative emotions and use the transformative power of a sacred geometric shape. This new tool will enable us to strip away the negative emotional energy, to neutralize the negativity, and to recycle that energy as fuel for the body. In particular, we will be able to use this recycled energy to form a refined pearl of pure energy. Moreover, by stripping away the deep negative emotional patterns, the virtue qualities of the five shen begin to shine forth more strongly. The refined pearl and the virtues of the five shen are then used in Fusion of the Five Elements 2 to form a pearl of compassion.

Without progressing into Fusion 2, we empower our Fusion 1 practice by calling in the eight cosmic forces of nature. These eight cosmic forces are linked into our deepest energy channels of our body (the Eight Extraordinary Channels), which are explored in the Fusion 2-3 courses. Thus this course provides the adequate foundation for the Fusion 2-3 and higher-level qigong meditation work.

Thus, in our Part B course, we will learn two new intermediate-level meditations for emotional and spiritual well-being:

  1. Classical Fusion:  a sophisication version of Fusion that creates a refined pearl of energy
  2. Cosmic Forces Fusion:  an advanced version of Fusion 1 that is supercharged by the eight cosmic forces
In addition to the meditations discussed above, we will learn some supportive physical qigong.
Aside from review of qigong from QMB1-3 and IS1, this will come primarily through additional work with the Iron Shirt Qigong 2 component.

ABOUT IRON SHIRT QIGONG 2

Iron Shirt Qigong 2 is a set of six dynamic tendon qigong exercises.

These exercises use a unique technique of "body rocking", which when incorporated with gentle tendon stretches, fills the tendon system with qi rather easily. Consequently, the Iron Shirt 2 Qigong exercises induce the tendons to grow over time. The tendons become longer and more elastic.

The whole purpose in creating a vibrant tendon system is that this will contribute to our youthfulness. Both flexibility and reaction time are mainly determined by the tendon system. Moreover, the effects of changes to the tendons tend to last for a very long time, unlike how muscles deteriorate and weaken very quickly. It is not uncommon to find elderly individuals who appear very vibrant and youthful, simply because they have very healthy tendon system.

Iron Shirt Qigong 2 also includes use of the Mung Bean Hitter. This is a soft sock filled with mung beans, which we tap along tendon lines to help remove excess heat and toxic qi from the tendon system. The Mung Bean Hitter can also be used as a healing device for people who suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, or simply for those who spend too much time at the computer.

Note:  It is not necessary that you own a Mung Bean Hitter or buy one for the workshop. They will be supplied during the workshop. After the workshop is over, you can (at home) perform the tendon line tapping with your hands (if you don't wish to get--or make--your own Mung Bean Hitter).

In this PART B class, we will review the Iron Shirt 2 material learned in PART A, learn four new tendon qigong exercises, and refine the technique for all six tendon exercises.

While the above material is self-contained and complete as is, it will also lay the foundation for additional physical qigong and qigong meditations.
